Dr Kylie

Dr Kylie Flannagan has been a vet for the last 10 years, fulfilling the career she has dreamed about since she was young on her parent’s farm. Her work has been filled with rewarding experiences, including helping patients suffering with dermatological conditions. Kylie says that “Scratching is a part of life, but when it is excessive, it can be both distressing to the dog and the owner”. Kylie recommends seeing your local vet if your dog is suffering with itchy skin, as there are many treatment options available to cater for your dog’s specific needs. Through her experience, Kylie has seen many cases with red raw and infected skin, and being able to see these signs decrease and then go away, much like with her patient Pumpkin, is what makes her job so rewarding. Kylie has loved watching Pumpkin “get her smile back” and return to being her relaxed self. Kylie says that Pumpkin really has been a different dog since treatment and finds great satisfaction in seeing her owner happy with Pumpkin’s results and seeing their bond stronger than ever. Pumpkin is a huge part of my life after the recent shock loss of my husband. Poppy was adopted as an allergy prone dog. In October last year her chronic skin allergies became a real challenge. Being itchy, hot and losing fur was not fun. Poppy is also not a fan of being examined. Luckily Dr Thi was up for the challenge! Poppy was treated with injections, baths, fish oil, low allergy food and different medications. The extra time and effort Dr Thi put into researching and consulting to determine the best care and treatment for Poppy was simply amazing. Dr Thi even got very clever at examining and getting skin samples etc from Poppy without her even realising what was going on. The months of effort were worth it. My experience with Dr Allison was a lifesaver for my dog. He was consistently itchy and scratching himself even after baths. I called my veterinarian's office and after listening to my concerns, the nurse made an appointment to examine my dog. They administered an allergy test and diagnosed my dog with an allergic reaction to grass. This diagnosis was a relief as it meant we could now determine the cause of his discomfort. Like many staffies, Stella is a very itchy dog with a whole range of skin issues. I’ve been to many vets and tried a range of different treatments, none of which worked unfortunately. That was until I visited Dr Shelton. BJ was a dog that never showed signs of the itch or scratch. Until Summer arrived this year and he showed signs of constant skin irritation, he would rub, chew, itch, twitch every second he could. Monte’s Story has awarded Dr Monica the Vet of the Month When we moved to our new rental we found out that our girl Monte was horribly allergic to the type of grass here. Simon saved Wilson and us from so much stress. After a third opinion as to why Wilson’s paw wouldn’t heal from grass seed surgery, Simon operated again and found the problem others couldn’t. Eligible entrants

Entry is only open to Australian residents aged 18 years or over who are the legal owner of a dog who has had treatment for the resolution and/or improvement of a dermatological condition.

How to Enter

To enter the Promotion, the entrant must complete the following steps during the Promotional Period:

a) scan the QR code on the promotional material or click on the online promotional post to access the submission website and follow the prompts to fully complete the online entry form with the following information:

  1. their personal details (first name, last name, mobile number and email address);
  2. their dog’s name and breed;
  3. the name and suburb of the vet clinic attended;
  4. the name of the vet or vet nurse they wish to nominate; and
  5. a description on why the vet or vet nurse has changed their dog’s life after the right treatment for their dermatological condition (in 150 words or less).

Entrants will also be required to upload a photo to support their submission and showing their dog’s ‘good to be back’ moment.

Limit one (1) entry per person per month. Each entrant (and each nominated vet/vet nurse) is eligible to win a maximum of one (1) Monthly Prize (and remain eligible for the Grand Prize).

Monthly Prize (Consumer Entrants): Entrants whose submissions are chosen as a monthly winner will win a personalised drink bottle, luggage tag with the ‘My Vet Rules’ logo and a picture of their dog and a name tag for their dog. 48 (6 winners per month) AUD$200 Judging Entrants must provide a photo of their dog to be used as the artwork on the drink bottle and luggage tag.
Major Prize (Vets/Vet Nurses): The major prize winner will receive the following:
  1. a badge with ‘Vet of the Year’ or ‘Vet Nurse of the Year’ (as applicable) and a trophy;
  2. 1 x microscope for the clinic of the winning Vet/Vet Nurse(valued at $6,270);
  3. 2024 AVA Conference package for the winner (1 person) including: 5 nights’ accommodation near location of AVA Conference, return economy class flights from the winner’s nearest capital city to the nearest capital city where the 2024 AVA conference will be located (TBC), and event registration ticket for the conference

*Travel and Accommodation shall be organised by Zoetis in accordance with the global travel policy. (Total value up to $4,000).

The winner may also have the opportunity to take part in a range of PR activities and events to promote their veterinary clinic (as determined by the Promoter in its absolute discretion).

For the sake of clarity, the exact details of the AVA conference package will be determined by the Promoter. Flights are not provided if winner resides in the same State of the AVA Conference.

  1. Travel must be taken on the dates required by the Promoter to coincide with the 2024 AVA Conference. Location of the conferencein 2024 is determined by the AVA. If the winner is unavailable on unwilling to travel on the date/s required by the Promoter to coincide with this event, they will forfeit their right to the prize and will not be awarded cash or any other alternative in lieu.
  2. Travel itinerary will be determined by the Promoter in its absolute discretion.
  3. Prize is subject to the standard terms and conditions of individual prize and service providers.
  4. The winner must depart from and return to the same departure point and travel together.
  5. Subject to the terms and conditions of the participating prize provider(s), if for any reason the winner does not, once the prize has been booked, take the prize (or an element of the prize) at the time stipulated, then the prize (or that element of the prize) will be forfeited and will not be redeemable for cash.
  6. The prize is subject to booking and flight availability.
  7. Frequent flyer points will not be awarded and do not form part of the prize.
  8. Spending money, meals, taxes (excluding airline and airport taxes), insurance, transport to and from departure point, transfers, items of a personal nature, in-room charges and all other ancillary costs, unless otherwise specified in the prize description, are not included.
  9. The winner may be required to present their credit card at accommodation check in.
  10. The PR activities will be determined by the Promoter in consultation with the winning vet/vet nurse and the owner of their veterinary clinic.
Major Prize (Consumer Entrants): ): The entrant who submits the major prize-winning submission will receive the following:
  1. a personalised carry on luggage suitcase with their name, the ‘My Vet Rules’ logo and a picture of their dog;
  2. a personalised dog bowl with their dog’s name printed on it; and
  3. a $1,000 paid by direct deposit to an Australian bank account in the winner’s name.
1 Up to AUD$1,475 Judging
  1. Entrants must provide a photo of their dog to be used as the artwork on the luggage.
  2. The winner must provide their Australian bank account details to the Promoter in order for the cash prize to be awarded.

Winner notification

The winners will be contacted by email within seven (7) business days of the judging.

Unclaimed Prizes

In the event of an unclaimed prize, the Promoter may at its discretion assign the prize to the entry judged the next best entry, conduct a further judging to award the prize, or withdraw the prize unawarded. The Promoter is under no obligation to award any unclaimed prize.

Further Conditions

  1. The entrant agrees and acknowledges that they have read these Conditions of Entry (and Schedule) and that entry into the Promotion is deemed to be acceptance of these Conditions of Entry (and Schedule). Any capitalised terms used in these Conditions of Entry have the meaning given in the Schedule, unless stated otherwise.
  2. The Promotion commences on the Start Date and ends on the End Date ("Promotional Period"). Entries are deemed to be received at the time of receipt by the Promoter and not at the time of transmission or deposit by the entrant. Records of the Promoter and its agencies are final and conclusive as to the time of receipt.
  3. Valid and eligible entries will be accepted during the Promotional Period.
  4. Employees (and their immediate family members) of agencies/companies directly associated with the conduct of this Promotion, the Promoter, businesses involved in determination of winner/s for the Promotion, businesses involved in the management of the Promotion, any organisation benefiting from the Promotion, the Promoter’s distributors, suppliers, subsidiary companies/businesses and associated companies and agencies are not eligible to enter. "Immediate family member" means any of the following: spouse, ex-spouse, de-facto spouse, child or step-child (whether natural or by adoption), parent, step-parent, grandparent, step-grandparent, uncle, aunt, niece, nephew, brother, sister, step-brother, step-sister or 1st cousin.
  5. Judging:
    1. The winners will be determined by representatives of the Promoter. Each entry will be judged based on the content of the submission (the worded response and the photo) and the effort of the vet/vet nurse described by the entrant.
    2. The best six (6) entries submitted by pet owners each month will win the Monthly Prize, as specified in the Schedule above. The Promoter will also select one (1) Vet/Vet Nurse who is the subject of a winning submission each month to receive the Monthly Vet/Vet Nurse prize.
    3. At the end of the Promotional Period, an overall winner will be selected from all Monthly Prize winners, and a prize awarded to the vet/vet nurse who is the subject of the submission and the corresponding client/entrant who submitted the entry.
    4. The judges may select additional reserve entries which they determine to be the next best, and record them in order, in case of an invalid entry or ineligible entrant.
    5. The winners will be determined by skill. Chance plays no part in determining the winners. The judges' decision is final and binding and no correspondence will be entered into.
  6. Exact size of any scrubs awarded as part of a prize to be determined by the Promoter.
  7. All reasonable attempts will be made to contact each winner.
  8. If any winner chooses not to take their prize (or is unable to) or does not take or claim a prize by the time specified by the Promoter, or is unavailable, they forfeit the prize and the Promoter is not obliged to substitute the prize.
  9. The value of the prizes is accurate and based upon the recommended retail value of the prizes (inclusive of GST) at the date of printing. The Promoter accepts no responsibility for any variation in the value of the prizes after that date.
  10. No part of a prize is exchangeable, redeemable for cash or any other prize or transferable, unless otherwise specified in writing by the Promoter.
  11. If a prize (or portion of a prize) is unavailable the Promoter reserves the right to substitute the prize (or that portion of the prize) to a prize of equal or greater value and specification.
  12. No entry fee is charged by the Promoter to enter the Promotion. Where entry is allowed online, there is no additional cost to enter the Promotion other than any cost paid by the entrant to access the website or social media platform of entry via their Internet service provider.
  13. Each prize will be awarded to the person named in the entry and any entry that is made on behalf of an entrant or by a third party will be invalid. If there is a dispute as to the identity of an entrant or winner, the Promoter reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to determine the identity of the entrant or winner.
  14. Entrants' personal information will be collected by the Promoter. Personal information will be stored on the Promoter's database. The Promoter may use this information for future marketing purposes regarding its products, including contacting the entrant electronically. The Promoter is bound by the Australian Privacy Principles in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and its privacy policy which is located at https://www2.zoetis.com.au/privacy-policy .   15. The Promoter reserves the right to refuse to allow a winner to take part in any or all aspects of a prize, if the Promoter determines in their absolute discretion, that a winner is not in the physical or mental condition necessary to be able to safely participate in or accept the prize. It is a condition of accepting the prize that a winner may be required to sign a legal release as determined by the Promoter in its absolute discretion, prior to receiving a prize.
  16. If a prize is provided to the Promoter by a third party, the prize is subject to the terms and conditions of the third-party prize supplier and the provision of the prize is the sole responsibility of the third party and not the Promoter. The terms and conditions which apply to the prize at the time it is issued to the winner will prevail over these Conditions of Entry, to the extent of any inconsistency. The Promoter accepts no responsibility or liability for any delay or failure by the third party to deliver the prize, any delay or failure relating to the prize itself or failure by the third party to meet any of its obligations in these Conditions of Entry or otherwise.
  17. Any guarantee or warranty given is in addition to any relevant statutory guarantees and warranties and nothing in these Conditions of Entry restricts, excludes or modifies or purports to restrict, exclude or modify any statutory consumer rights under any applicable law including the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth).
  18. If for any reason any aspect of this Promotion is not capable of running as planned, including by reason of computer virus, communications network failure, bugs, tampering, unauthorised intervention, fraud, technical failure or any cause beyond the control of the Promoter, the Promoter may in its sole discretion cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Promotion and invalidate any affected entries, or suspend or modify a prize.
  19. The Promoter reserves the right, at any time, to validate and check the authenticity of entries and entrant's details (including an entrant's identity, age and place of residence). In the event that a winner cannot provide suitable proof as required by the Promoter to validate their entry, the winner will forfeit the prize in whole and no substitute will be offered. Incomplete, indecipherable, inaudible, incorrect and illegible entries, as applicable, will at the Promoter's discretion be deemed invalid and not eligible to win. Entries containing offensive or defamatory comments, or which breach any law or infringe any third-party rights, including intellectual property rights, are not eligible to win. The use of any automated entry software or any other mechanical or electronic means that allows an individual to automatically enter repeatedly is prohibited and may render all entries submitted by that individual invalid.
  20. All material submitted on entry (e.g. photo(s), image(s), drawing(s), comment(s), and answer(s) to the promotional question) must NOT: (a) be in breach of any laws, regulations and rights, e.g. any laws regarding intellectual property (copyright, trademarks, etc), defamation and privacy; (b) be defamatory, obscene, derogatory, pornographic, sexually inappropriate, contain nudity, aggressive, violent, abusive, harassing, threatening, objectionable or discriminate/vilify any section of the community with respect to race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, origin, sexual preference, mental illness, disability or gender or unsuitable for publication; or (c) contain viruses. Entrants warrant that they own or have the right to license the copyright in any entry submitted by them into this Promotion, for the purposes of this Promotion, that no rights have been granted to any third party in respect of any such entry which would prevent the entry being used as contemplated by this Promotion, and that the use by the Promoter of any such entry will not breach any laws or infringe the rights of any person (including without limitation with respect to privacy, intellectual property and defamation). Entrants must obtain prior consent from any person or from the owner(s) of any property that appears in their entry. The entrant warrants and represents that any material sent or provided by the entrant to the Promoter will not infringe any copyright, trademarks or other intellectual property rights of any third party (including moral rights) and that the entrant has all rights to use the materials and has obtained all necessary consents to comply with any relevant privacy and/or confidentiality requirements. Entrants agree to indemnify the Promoter for any breach of the Terms and Conditions including this clause.
  21. The Promoter reserves the right to disqualify entries in the event of non-compliance with these Conditions of Entry. In the event that there is a dispute concerning the conduct of the Promotion or claiming a prize, the Promoter will resolve the dispute in direct consultation with the entrant. If the dispute cannot be resolved the Promoter’s decision will be final.
  22. The Promoter and its associated agencies and companies will not be liable for any loss (including, without limitation, indirect, special or consequential loss or loss of profits), expense, damage, personal injury or death which is suffered or sustained (whether or not arising from any person's negligence or willful misconduct) in connection with this Promotion or accepting or using any prize (or recommendation), except for any liability which cannot be excluded by law (in which case that liability is limited to the minimum allowable by law).
  23. The entrant will participate in and co-operate as required with all reasonable marketing and editorial activities relating to the Promotion, including (but not limited to) being recorded, photographed, filmed or interviewed and acknowledges that the Promoter may use any such marketing and editorial material without further reference or compensation to them.
  24. The Promoter accepts no responsibility for any tax implications and the entrant must seek their own independent financial advice in regard to the tax implications relating to the prize or acceptance of the prize.
  25. Failure by the Promoter to enforce any of its rights at any stage does not constitute a waiver of these rights.
